  Using Wildcards with the Windows Service Template in SCOM
  
  I'm so glad I found this! I figured out how to monitor a service and have alerts sent on it earlier this year. But the problem is that we have hundreds of services to monitor on hundreds of machines. It would take forever to add them all. Fortunately these services all have a consistant naming scheme and this article explains exactly how to monitor them all using wildcards
