This seems pretty serious to me. And it's no wonder the World Bank is a target. [I think] They control all the worlds money, and that makes them stick out like a sore thumb to hackers.

Sites like kiva.org I imagine may have the potential to level the playing field a little bit between first and third world countries. It may be a bit naive to think that but with the net, lines of communication (and even loans) are opened up between people that otherwise would never come in contact. This bypasses the natural and traditional boundaries. With these kinds of connections, it seems there are a lot more possibilities yet unexplored.
