Digg Cleans House, Bans 80+ Script Users
I think this is great because it will hopefully reduce the noise on digg and allow the smaller fish a nicer piece of the pie. I've used digg for a while and I have never once got one of my stories to the front page. So I rarely use it because what is the point? Basically, if these (ex)diggers are using scripts as tools and scracthing each others back, they can run the site! It's part of the reason why I started TechTango.net. At least my friends and I can have a place of our own to share stuff. If Digg does become what it's supposed to be and a normal small fish user can submit a cool story and it get to the front page based on the content of the story and not the reputation of the digger, then I think digg would benefit greatly and many more people would use it. And digg would get more traffic and be higher quality because of it.
